Cerro Alarkén Natural Reserve
Arakur Ushuaia
More than 100 hectares destined to the preservation of nature, harboring different flora and fauna species found in Tierra del Fuego, forests of lenga, ñires and coihues, a peat bog and 1,500 meters of coast along Arroyo Grande.
On a natural balcony at 820 ft of height, Arakur Ushuaia opens out surrounded by a privileged landscape. Its doors lead to the beginning of those paths that go across the Reserve.
In the Cerro Alarkén nature reserve and its surroundings there are different native species typical of Tierra del Fuego island. You can see lengas, ñires, coihues, lichen old man’s beard, pan de indio mushroom, calafates and orchids.
You can see also chimangos, foxes, black-chested buzzard-eagle, barn owls and a variety of small birds, the most representative species of the flora and fauna from the end of the word.
